Until recently, users could transact on Farcaster through either Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow using that protocol. The post says the change was made after discussion with the Base team, which may add support in the future, and that Farcaster will revisit enabling it then. It also states the change affects fewer than 2% of transacting users. ## 2. @v: New video feeds with full screen viewing and algo for Farcaster - Kiwi News: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/v-New-video-feeds-with-full-screen-viewing-and-algo-for-Farcaster?index=0x687bde6f9e6f40c64a106dc36c614374b1d90e24f45b053f38a61c1d8254786de4ac632a - Source: https://farcaster.xyz/v/0xe8ca6fe2 - Shared 19 July 2025, 8 upvotes, 0 comments Farcaster has launched a video feed, a full screen viewer for watching videos from favorite creators. The company says trending was launched a few years ago to help user discovery, and that newer tools such as in-feed suggestions, rewards leaderboards and algorithmic recommendations have since taken over that role. It states that fewer than 5% of users check the trending feed daily and that its trending algorithm is no longer helpful for discovering new users, so the feature is being removed to simplify the app. ## 6. bye bye fc active badge, hello Power Badge - Kiwi News: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/bye-bye-fc-active-badge-hello-Power-Badge?index=0x65fa67430261188bbb5bd4c467b4a20df7a8c551ab0371b7d701ad8f8c8a233bac3af1d4 - Source: https://warpcast.com/v/0x16c62367 - Shared 20 March 2024, 5 upvotes, 0 comments ## 7. @v: A quick history of the Farcaster feed - Kiwi News: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/v-A-quick-history-of-the-Farcaster-feed?index=0x685e3863da5c707d34eaf161b7c215c2f7071d07d4e4dc7b98b00b5faa54939de599b2a2 - Source: https://farcaster.xyz/v/0x694133db - Shared 27 June 2025, 4 upvotes, 0 comments Vitalik-style author? No, the post is by "@v" per the title, and the article is a short first-person history of Farcaster's feed. The article says the first feed in 2021 showed every post from newest to oldest with no way to unfollow, which was acceptable when the network had about 100 users. Follows were added soon after, and because new users started with an empty feed, the team picked the most active users each week and suggested that new signups follow them. The feed was first built as a SQL query run on each app load to fetch the latest casts and hydrate links and images, and was later moved to a background job that refreshed every 30 seconds and slowed down when users stopped checking the app. ## 8. The text is a short introduction and does not describe the specific methods the platform uses to tackle spam. ## 21. It says any work that is not coding, selling or talking to users is a side quest, and it recommends replacing sprint planning, offsites and recurring 1:1s with one daily meeting to decide what to ship. It also advises keeping the tech stack fast enough that a new hire can write a feature in a day and deploy it to users in 30 minutes. ## 23. @v: NPM QIX attack, Farcaster app safe but miniapps at risk - Kiwi News: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/v-NPM-QIX-attack-Farcaster-app-safe-but-miniapps-at-risk?index=0x68bf4063f76b8ced6cae9d1fdc6f210da6b152af9282b53babfa8eb86f14c46a6f0a5a93 - Source: https://farcaster.xyz/v/0x266e5c21 - Shared 8 September 2025, 1 upvote, 0 comments Farcaster says its app on web and mobile is safe from the NPM QIX attack, but Farcaster miniapps could be affected and users should reject transactions they do not fully understand. An attacker took over an NPM developer's account and replaced packages with malicious versions, and these open-source components are used by many apps, including popular crypto wallets. Farcaster says it uses some of these packages but has confirmed it has not updated them since the attack. Its security scanning should catch most malicious transactions proposed by a miniapp, and users will see a transaction preview they can review and reject. ## 24. @v: Seeing some slowness on Farcaster app, investigating - Kiwi News: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/v-Seeing-some-slowness-on-Farcaster-app-investigating?index=0x68a770dacd8e02fb9fe47350fd41bb198477561a019c710b26426fb16fb78025cc8f2853 - Source: https://farcaster.xyz/v/0x181ddb62 - Shared 21 August 2025, 1 upvote, 0 comments ## 25. @v: How @akshaan built Trending Topics on Farcaster for $1/day in <1 hour - Kiwi News: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/v-How-akshaan-built-Trending-Topics-on-Farcaster-for-dollar1day-in-andlt1-hour?index=0x6843ff1523dc6506443a7d6e717a3c5b49f951db250db241b3bf3ecba826a5931fe97c8e - Source: https://farcaster.xyz/v/0x4f8d00cc - Shared 7 June 2025, 1 upvote, 0 comments ## 26. The article gives Warpcast as an example: an app could rent a thousand units and delegate them to a thousand users it onboards, without charging those users. If an account turns out to be a bot, the app can reclaim that storage and reassign it later, which the article says lets apps cover storage costs for users while correcting mistakes in judging which users are genuine. ## 27. ETH‘s tactical problem is not being able to serve consumer apps - Kiwi News: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/ETHs-tactical-problem-is-not-being-able-to-serve-consumer-apps?index=0x6795f0f8318c670dd08d6cc7834aaeec95423b119b60e0a669e613187c5596ceda153245 - Source: https://warpcast.com/v/0x170cef78 - Shared 26 January 2025, 1 upvote, 0 comments The author argues that Ethereum's central tactical problem is its free market of L2 chains, which is technically sound and decentralized but creates externalities that degrade user experience. Layers, chains, EIP-7702 wallets, EVM compatibility and bridges are too complex for a normal user to understand. Ethereum fixes such as bigger blobs, account and chain abstraction, and native rollups are described as a massively complex roadmap that will take years, during which Solana is said to be eating Ethereum's lunch. ## 28.
