It updates FARCASTER_VERSION from "2023.12.27" to "2024.2.7" and adds a version schedule entry for "2024.2.7" that expires at 4/3/24 00:00 UTC. It also removes the earlier "2023.12.27" constant and adds the matching schedule entry, which expires at 2/21/24 00:00 UTC. The diff itself does not mention Solana verification, so that claim cannot be confirmed from the text. ## Article Expand Up @@ -92,7 +92,7 @@ export const APP_NICKNAME = process.env["HUBBLE_NAME"] ?? If they‘re adding Solana verifications to the protocol layer, then, for growth, what else are they going to do in the future? Fuck exit, we need more voice. **macbudkowski.eth**: I think it was bound to happen. Farcaster wants to build a 1B+ social network. There are many chains out there, and - if the history of BTC & ETH forks can be a lesson - some of them will prevail. So, if FC wants to reach as many crypto people as possible, they must integrate more chains (even if they stop at the most popular ones. Wondering how the Solana community will integrate with the Ethereum majority. I hope that discussions will be more merit-based than the ones on Twitter. **tim**: I think a 1B user social network can be built without integrating Solana. **macbudkowski.eth**: Probably yes. It might be harder, though. Outside Ethereum, Solana is probably the most vibrant and vocal ecosystem now. If Farcaster doesn't integrate Solana, then someone would probably build Solana-centric social media to capture that community. (tweetrel: https://twitter.com/aeyakovenko/status/1756704003851948159) And I think their short-term goal (before going out to non-web3 users) is to become "the social media for onchain communities", regardless of the chain. So, probably one day, they will also integrate Bitcoin, Cosmos, and so on.
