## Summary

Nostr is presented as a public domain communication protocol that could add interoperability to social media, letting users keep one digital identity, followers and content across platforms rather than being locked into siloed ecosystems. The author says they use Nostr as one of their two most active social media ecosystems alongside Twitter. The article explains that each user holds a public/private key pair, with the public key as a permanent identifier and the private key signing content, which lets users move between clients such as Primal, Damus, Amethyst and Snort while keeping their followers and publication history.
