Blockchain, meanwhile, is still under the hood, struggling to prove it belongs on the road at all. **misha**: Talking about use cases for blockchain, I think still one of the best powers of blockchain is permissionlessness - you don’t have to ask anyone permission to use it. It is the idea of the vending machine as described by Nick Szabo in 1997 (Yes, Szabo - not Sparkles ;) You have a smart contract, you throw in a coin and you get a can of soda. Automatically. The thing is, maybe there are just still a lot of people who don’t mind to ask permission. Or are just used to it, or even like to have a man in the middle. Anyway, confessing I drive a Prius. It’s a great car which brings the best of both worlds, EV and combustion. What would the Prius of blockchain look like? https://www.fon.hum.uva.nl/rob/Courses/InformationInSpeech/CDROM/Literature/LOTwinterschool2006/szabo.best.vwh.net/idea.html
