The network is part of Optimism's Superchain and features a Gasback program where artists and apps can claim 80% of the sequencer fees generated by users of their smart contracts. Users can bridge ETH through Superbridge or Relay, with Relay offering faster withdrawals than the roughly 7-day native bridging system. The article also recommends minting a free Stack NFT, which costs less than a cent in gas, and lists apps such as Passport, Deca, Highlight and White Walls. ## Article Creative opportunities abound on Ethereum's newest rollup 🎨 Shape's art-centric Ethereum Layer 2 just went live—you in? For context, Shape is a new L2 designed specifically for creators, built by the team behind the Deca NFT curation platform. The newest member of Optimism’s Superchain ecosystem, the network features a Gasback program where artists and apps can claim 80% of the sequencer fees generated by people who use their smart contracts. With its Sept. 30th launch behind us, it’s now possible to bridge ETH into Shape and try the first live apps on the network. For early bridging options here, the Shape team recommends Superbridge, a frontend for native Superchain bridges, or Relay, a fast bridge created by Reservoir. If at any point you want to withdraw back to Ethereum, opt for Relay, which will take a few seconds compared to the ~7 days enforced by the native bridging system Superbridge is built on. via Shape Once you’re on the network, next up you’ll want to mint your Stack. This is a dynamic NFT that evolves in line with your onchain achievements on Shape, with these achievements tracked by “medals” you can collect. The Stack drop is also a free mint; you’ll only need to cover the gas fee, which will cost less than a cent. Additionally, collecting medals will move you up the Shape leaderboard, with the top spots offering rewards like free NFTs. via Shape At this point, you’re ready to start diving into the Shape scene. An easy place to begin is with Shape’s Drops page, which features live and upcoming NFT drops of note on the network. You can also check out the Platform & Apps directory to see which projects you can currently try on the L2. Some I recommend starting with include… 🪪 Passport — Also known as Gitcoin Passport, this platform is a decentralized identity system that serves as a Proof of Personhood solution for the onchain world. Minting your Passport NFT on Shape is an easy way to rack up some of your first medals in your Stack. via Passport 🎴 Deca — I used to contribute to an NFT curation project, JPG, so I’ve long respected Deca in knowing the kind of hard work that goes into their NFT curation platform. That said, the Deca team built Shape, so Deca’s another natural starting point in the network’s app scene. To track the new NFTs you collect on Shape, sign in to Deca with your wallet and press the “Wallet” tab in your profile. via Deca 🎨 Highlight — I’m a big fan of Highlight, as I think it’s one of the best and easiest places to DIY your own NFT drops, whether that’s onchain 1/1s or a PFP collection you want to release with your own custom mint site. The platform supports a growing stable of L2s, now including Shape, so it’s a great app to check out if you’re a creator. 📺 White Walls — Most people still don’t have great ways to view their NFTs in real life. White Walls is setting out to change that by making it easy to stream your favorite NFTs to the smart TV in your living room. Apple TVs are supported for now, with more integrations on the way. That said, this app is one way to check out your new Shape NFTs in style. via White Walls More about Shape ➕ Shape Twitter | Shape Docs William M. Peaster 1095 posts William M. Actually it is from the same team that brought us Deca. I minted my “stack” and after 10 minutes I found myself farming lol. It immediately reminded me of Deca, which also very much is incentivized by all kinds of farming. Somehow you don’t want to farm, but you are pulled into it only to find out after a while that you are doing it. Of course also wondering why we need yet another art L2 chain, but why not? The more art the better. And I think Shape has the best team and also great support by artists and collectors alike of all the “art L2s” that have launched. (Zora, Forma, etc.) It has somehow 2021 vibes, maybe it’s the Deca feel, I don’t know. But it is certainly one to watch. **naomiii.eth**: Speaking of art and L2s, Tezos used to be my go to for interesting artsy stuff, and I found a lot of creators I loved on there... Now they also have an L2, but I don't think they are bringing the art on it. It'd be nice if we could just have art without all the thinking about which chains its on. Anyway, I minted a stack and used rainbow wallet to connect, then all the claiming failed. Maybe it's me being an idiot :D I shall figure it out eventually. probably just an issue of shape not being supported by the wallet yet haha **tim**: > Anyway, I minted a stack and used rainbow wallet to connect, then all the claiming failed. Rainbow has only limited chain support actually. They support Degen L3, but they might not support all Superchain L2s lol. > Of course also wondering why we need yet another art L2 chain, but why not? Yeah…, but it seems that this one is going for the DIY artists from 2021, whereas Zora is pursuing the marginal consumer by reducing cost and friction. I actually think it is kinda smart to speak to sophisticated users on lower-levels for launching an NFT L2. Lots of potential. Meanwhile Zora is also speaking to this cohort. Recently, for example, they said that they‘re not going to publish their NFTs in compliance to open standards anymore 🤣 **misha**: Stop using these ancient wallets. lol. Modern wallets like Zeal (works effortlessly) or probably Rabby will have no trouble with any new L2 you throw at it. **tim**: > Stop using these ancient wallets. 🤣 **naomiii.eth**: This is true I probably should use Zeal. Altho, I don't want to use more L2s. What is the endgame here? I lie on my deathbed thinking if only I had used another 100 L2s, maybe I'd have found the one true art chain? :D **tim**: What people will remember about you: what L2s you used If you used the Sparks or Szabo unit **naomiii.eth**: don't forget whether you ate kiwis with skin or without
