**misha**: Isn’t it weird that TikTok is banned while on Meta and X it’s like all brakes off no restraints? What is happening here? Is just bc TikTok is owned by ByteDance a Chinese company?

Notable is that TikTok has never operated in mainland China. (The app has a separate Chinese counterpart called Douyin.)
