## Summary

Péter Szilágyi's talk traces how the meaning of decentralization has shifted over the past decade or more, from its origins through successive reinterpretations and misinterpretations in blockchain development. He notes that although decentralization is treated as a cornerstone of all blockchains, each generation of developers has redefined what it "actually means." The talk poses the question of whether constantly revising the definition leads to better or worse outcomes, and asks whether all evidence can be treated equally when trillions of dollars are at stake.
