Zapper, a DeFi portfolio and transaction app, is winding down, with its services shutting down completely on August 3rd. Co-founder and CEO Seb Audet announced the decision after close to 7 years of building the product, which began as a portfolio tracker he built for himself. After close to 7 years building Zapper, I regret to announce that Zapper will be winding down. We evaluated a number of different options, pursued some to the fullest extent possible, and came to the realization that an orderly wind down is the best course of action.

Zapper started as a simple portfolio tracker I built for myself while exploring the crazy new frontier that was DeFi. I would have never expected it to grow as it did, serving more than 2 million monthly active users and processing more than $13B in transaction volume at its peak.

From myself and the team: it’s been an incredible honour building Zapper for all of you. The journey of a lifetime. The highs were very high. The lows were very low. There were very good bets, very bad ones, and a lot in between. I’ve given Zapper my all, trying to build the most ambitious onchain product.

To everyone that uses and has ever used Zapper in the past, thank you. To all our investors, advisors, employees and community members, thank you. Zapper's mission was to make DeFi more accessible, and while we did not realize that mission the way we originally hoped, I do believe we helped make the onchain economy significantly easier to use for a considerable number of people.

On August 3rd, Zapper’s services will be completely shut down, including zapper(.)xyz, our mobile apps, and our API services. To existing API users, you will receive an email helping you with the transition.
