Lately I've been reading a book about word of mouth called "Contagious", and I was thinking about ways to make Kiwi stand out.

So I have this friend from my college years who decided to become a psychotherapist. He didn't want to work with all people's problems, so he decided to specialize.

But instead of following a traditional specialization path like e.g., only working with teenagers or addictions, he decided to work only with people who have problems after taking psychedelic drugs.

When he first started exploring that path, I thought: "Well, that's a really niche specialization. Wondering if he's going to get enough clients".

So fast forward until today... A friend told me that her close friend got problems after taking MDMA. And now recommending this guy was the most obvious thing ever. His services felt like a perfectly shaped puzzle to fill the need of the client.

And since these drugs are getting more and more popular, I am sure he has tons of work.

What does it have to do with Kiwi?

I was thinking that maybe our offer doesn't stand out enough. Maybe dealing just with Ethereum news is too vanilla offering, just like being a vanilla psychotherapist?

Maybe we need to specialize more (like my friend did), or highlight our unique approach to content because I feel like it might not be obvious to people why they should use Kiwi instead of e.g., ETH Daily or a Telegram groupchat.

Yeah maybe. I guess the question is whether people would get such a strictly filtered Ethereum-related feed on X or Farcaster. Do they?

On X it's all over the place. On Farcaster it is better but compared to Kiwi, feels kind of random. I sometimes encounter quality Ethereum content, but there's a lot of chatter about memecoins, Farcaster, people sharing their projects, schmoozing and so on.

So Farcaster compared to Kiwi feels like a Swiss knife that does everything, whereas Kiwi is more like this specialized tool.

What I also find interesting is highlighting Kiwi's unique approach to content. E.g., Pirate Wires is very opinionated, and tech positive and they are very loud about it, building a contrast between them and more tech-skeptical (or even anti-tech) media. Maybe we'd need to find our stance here, too

Yeah I just now asked a question on Farcaster and now in my notifications inbox I got smth saying that everyone was buying $lemon3 or smth like this... So it feels like FC is heavy about memecoin ads now.

I think so. Also if someone is serious about content, they follow newsletters like ETH Daily, or join groupchats, and Telegram curation channels. I think they are closer to being substitutes to Kiwi than X/FC.

At this point we rely on ENS, so you need to go to ens.domains, and get a domain (e.g., "yourname.eth") first.

Then you will be able to set up your profile picture there on at app.ens.domains/yourname.eth by clicking 'Edit Profile' and adding your picture there.

Really good to see you guys having this conversation in here - and really thoughtful questions imo.

If I look at what drives me to Kiwi it's less the Ethereum alignment than proposition of actual very good Web3 people pushing out high quality content.

Biggest friction for me is having to visit a third party website. The Newsletter is how I typically come back. But I imagine there's probably even more retentive features we can build around frames or in Warpcast notifications.

We try out best to keep it high-signal :) Since you mentioned the newsletter, wondering what do you think about the revolution that happened lately, where we narrowed it down to just 7 links per episode?

Speaking of Frames, do you have any particular examples in mind? IIRC Paragraph sends notifications when they publish a new post, I imagine we could do the same when there's a new link in the Hot feed?

hmm that's a good question! do you have this address connected to Warpcast? Because this is how we link WC accounts with a Kiwi profile

Will hopefully resolve over time. Maybe the backend was only successful, for now, to retrieve your Lens profile... But we're actually looking for your ENS and FC profile too. And the priority is ENS => FC => Lens as of now
