yesterday we had a new all time high in DAU, WAU and MAU. It seemed everyone wanted to submit their Farcaster contest posts. Quite crazy bc some parts of the site really stopped working.

IMO this also shows how important it is to have retention contacts for newly onboarded peeps, because nobody seems to have problems using the site if something is at stake

I woke up this morning to a Warpcast wallet. Anyway love testing new stuff. It is extremely easy. In-wallet swapped some Base ETH to GNO with minimal fees and speedy. So I’m guess there’s some relay magic in the background. Bothered me a bit I cannot see my full wallet address, when copy you see part. Anyway I always like to check after pasting, which is not possible. Maybe it’s bc not to scare the normies onboarding with a long set of characters. Lol.

I was wondering, but I can’t find it, is it a custodial or non-custodial wallet? I guess non-custodial directly linked to your fc id?

Anyway guess it’s handy ! Maybe even the missing feature. What surprised me the most is that it supports so many EVM coins including Gnosis.

100%. This pattern have been repeating itself with each writing contest - if people can win $, they are more prone to submit and upvote content here. Yesterday, we crossed 40 DAUs, which is way more than previous 30 DAU ATH.

Just checked it. If you paste it to e.g., text file or browser tab, you can see the full address. I guess you're right - they might have designed it that way to not scare normies.

Anyway, super bullish on this wallet integration because Warpcast now pays USDC to most active users and you can also receive DEGEN tips and so on.

So I imagine that if you just got onboarded to Warpcast and after a week or so you get 10 USDC or $20 worth of DEGEN, it might be a pretty magical experience.

You can interact with Frames and I imagine mini apps, too. I haven't seen any mini app asking me for money yet, so can't tell for sure.

But long-term vision must include mini apps, where e.g., you have 5 free lives in a Farcade game, and then need to "Put in a $1 coin" like in old arcade games, to get 5 more lives.

Interesting, I wonder if you could also buy the Kiwi Pass with the wallet. I imagine you have to carefully confirm every wallet interaction that a frame proposes? I'd love for people to be able to go on Kiwi, click upvote, and somehow the frame would not prompt the wallet with a "Confirm signature" dialogue.

IMO it'd be smart if that was the direction of WC wallet, but ofc, a for profit driven startup like WC is going to optimize for the local maximum, which is to enable all things token related, hehe
