Friend.tech to Migrate From Base to Its Own Blockchain - Unchained
AI summary of the linked articleFriend.tech plans to migrate from Coinbase's layer 2 network Base to its own blockchain, Friendchain, using FRIEND as the gas token. The Friend.tech team announced on X on June 8 that it had teamed up with crypto infrastructure platform Conduit to build the network. The token's price rallied over 60% to a high of $1.34 within 30 minutes of the announcement, but had fallen to around $0.70 at the time of writing, according to CoinMarketCap data. Base creator Jesse Pollak said he would be sad if the team left Base but would support its decision. |
3 comments I don't understand why they would need to migrate. they have 177 users now! I guess it's only a matter of 'decentralizing' token control.. timSubmitter I also don't understand it, but it seemed as if they had a partnership with Base that was now somehow stopped. And from what I remember the lead at friendtech posted also something rude about Base or whatever My hypothesis is that they want to convince more people to buy their tokens, by saying "It's not just an app, it's the whole ecosystem, imagine what would happen if devs started building apps tapping into our community". |
