Hito Steyerl on how it uses us

AI summary of the linked article

Hito Steyerl argues that the central question about AI is how it uses people and for what purposes, not whether artists and writers personally adopt it. She ties machine learning industries to energy consumption, militarization, data colonialism, surveillance and automation, and says ML is helping authoritarian governments and boosting far-right movements. She also says ML will reduce the bargaining power of many wage-reliant workers in the medium term, and that Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson argue that productivity gains will not be redistributed voluntarily, so social movements will be needed.

Did anyone read her book yet? Not sure I‘d manage to get through. Sounds like a collection of ideas I‘m already aware of?
