Péter Szilágyi : I often wonder if I'm in the wrong industry
AI summary of the linked articlePéter Szilágyi argues that the crypto industry has produced large value transfers but no genuine value creation, and that it should build something useful or close down. He contrasts crypto with SpaceX, saying that its rocket launches, successes and failures alike, advance humanity, while crypto's price swings mainly enrich some and wreck others. He writes that Bitcoin at least tries, and fails, to be a safe haven asset, and that most other projects are selling shovels with no gold rush in sight. |

3 comments don't we all? :D I feel like this every few months. There are a few decent things like kiwi, or paragraph or fileverse but for each of those always a load of BS. I also believe it's a common sentiment, but I think the conclusion is unfair. There are a lot of innovations and lessons learned from all the failures. Yes, the failures are much more painful, and greed continues to be the main reason why things fail so badly. Plus, we are attracted by stories like this rather than the positive success stories involving hard work, and the rebuilding that is done after a failure. |
