@RyanSAdams Absolute privacy nightmare. Governments pushing AML/KYC on the app layer - they think its a good idea to have citizens submit biometrics and IDs to every third party who requests it. Can they at least mandate zk solutions where the user can prove identity without submitting it to every corporation on the planet? Bureaucrats "accidentally" legislating a surveillance state and broken security for their citizens.  It‘s actually really interesting that social media now requires ID in many countries but the Democrats are against ID based voting in the US  And still no viable decentralised substitute for Discord. I think having to do KYC is going to have an impact on crypto Discord, curious if people are going to jump. But where? Maybe check how Status is doing https://status.app/ ? Or Matrix https://matrix.org/ ? I kinda wonder why companies don't voluntarily adopt ZKPassport? It feels like a genuinely better option than any other KYC. From what I can tell, once you authenticate with ZKPassport once you can use the proof anywhere, which seems to be a much better model than doing a KYC check per app | |
