Great to see that the things I created back then now have a nice name, but will the machines that create them now care? I just learned about the difference between presentation slides and slide docs today. To be honest, I love slidedocs. I'm a sucker for flipping through them to explore a new topic. One of my most quoted slidedoc is this presentation on network effects: https://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/network-effects-59206938/59206938 I just find it really compelling how some people can visualize complex and abstract topics visually well, and also that you can consume the slidedoc with or without a presenter. I learned everywhere, in my job, school, uni, that slides must have very sparse text and that they must be very simple. But I'm now revisiting this and I'm thinking, maybe this is not fair to the audience either. When I'm at a conference and I see a slide of an intriguing topic, I'll go on my phone to learn more and to find the right links. So why not make slides more complex, filled with content | |
