Where J.D. Vance gets his weird, terrifying techno-authoritarian ideas

AI summary of the linked article

Curtis Yarvin's influence on J.D. Vance is the article's central claim, which argues that Vance's authoritarian ideas, shaped by Yarvin and by his ties to Peter Thiel, could shape a Trump administration if Trump wins. The article notes that in 2021 Vance called for a "de-Baathification program" against the left and said Trump should fire every midlevel bureaucrat and defy court orders halting the purge. It links Yarvin's "RAGE" plan (Retire All Government Employees) to Project 2025, which calls for firing an estimated 500,000 federal employees. It also says Thiel spent $15 million on Vance's 2022 Senate campaign.

Gil Duran, that‘s the same guy who also ran the recent Balaji story on „cleansing the blues“ out of SF.

> Each patchwork would be ruled by a “realm”: a corporation with absolute power. Citizens would be free to move, but every other realm would also be ruled by corporate governments with chilling impunity.

I prefer Malka Older's vision, with competition between democratic and corporate realms (see https://www.goodreads.com/series/194579-centenal-cycle). However, having noticed Moldbug et al over the years, I suspect their model got traction now.
