em dash conspiracy

This GitHub repository tracks em dash (—) usage across tech and startup subreddits over the past year, a stylistic marker often associated with AI-generated writing. The data was generated on May 4, 2025, using Reddit's API to fetch the top 1,000 posts from the past year in each subreddit. The README warns that this introduces time bias, since recent posts are underrepresented unless they quickly gained high scores, and says the chart should be treated as a signal rather than proof.
