Hmm, that's weird because I remember Apple also announcing recently that more browsers than Safari on iOS will allow being able to "Add [a PWA] to Home Screen". So I guess now the capability to launch in standalone mode is gone.

But it's all really frustrating because it shouldn't be predicated on Apple's "mood" whether the app can retain users.
