And I agree, consumers do really not care about these things. I don‘t know a single person who wanted Unlonely Brian to use Livepeer. The site, at first, was all about onchain and friends. Then about gambling. Neither of which need all the above

I think most blockchain consumer use cases will be important:

(a) for creators who want to make money: they can tap into global liquidity and avoid Stripe tax,

(b) when there's a lot of money involved: idc about storing my videos permanently if I made $100 on them, but if I made $100,000 and these videos keep generating revenue, I'd rather not see them taken down.

But it's a chicken-egg problem. If you don't have liquidity, then creators would rather see more people pay with credit cards than fewer people pay with crypto. If you don't have volume, creators would rather go to YouTube/Instagram/Twitter.

tbh I don‘t see how creators are held back by anything you just said. I think creators are completely fine with trading fees against reach on their platforms. I don‘t think there‘s anything related to avoiding the Stripe tax. That would be news to me if this was a thing

Okay, to give you an example, look at Farcaster.

How many people made significant money ($500+) there who could not earn the same amounts via Twitter? And by earning money I mean: selling their art, selling closed groupchats NFTs, selling podcast NFTs, receiving DEGEN tips, getting Warpcast rewards, and so on.

I saw at least a few. And they did that IMO because on FC there are many people earning significant salaries or just feeling the 'house money effect'. And since the competition for attention is much less fierce than on Twitter, and you pay with 'magic Internet money', it's easier to generate revenue.

BTW maybe highlighting Stripe here was a distraction, I just got mad at them lately hah

Move away from thinking you'll get mass volume of the mainstream.

And instead focus on saving the people who are tuning in or care.

Kiwi News is making a huge mistake by telling people to "only submit Ethereum" stuff. You're giving the middle finger to Bitcoin, Monero, Solana, and the bulk of the population... for what purpose?

Also when I paid for an NFT pass, I was not told "Eth only", I was told this is a decentralized hacker news. Even centralized hacker news doesn't force one topic only.
