@v: Base app drops Mobile Wallet Protocol support

Coinbase Wallet / TBA no longer works as an alternate wallet on mobile. Until recently, you could use Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow to transact on Farcaster using Mobile Wallet Protocol. The latest version of Coinbase Wallet (TBA) does not support this protocol. We're disabling Coinbase Wallet / TBA as an option for now after discussing with the Base team. They might add support for this in the future, and we'll revisit enabling it. Fortunately, this wasn't very widely used and only affects < 2% of transacting users.

AI summary of the linked article

Farcaster is disabling Coinbase Wallet / TBA as a transaction option on mobile because the latest version of that wallet no longer supports the Mobile Wallet Protocol. Until recently, users could transact on Farcaster through either Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow using that protocol. The post says the change was made after discussion with the Base team, which may add support in the future, and that Farcaster will revisit enabling it then. It also states the change affects fewer than 2% of transacting users.

Very sad to see. On the Kiwi iOS app we‘ll also have to remove it because otherwise it‘ll just be Rainbow who‘s supporting it
