Obviously great list of events! But can’t help thinking, why on Google docs and not Fileverse or something web3ish? Put words into action, why would anyone go through the trouble of paying with their Ethereum wallet if you could just use PayPal. I think the go for convenience mindset needs to be dropped. Or built something new that is convenient ;)

Good idea, DMed your comment to Nathan who compiled this list!

But then IMO this goes to the core of mission/vision of Fileverse. Maybe if Google Doc's centralization is fine enough to distribute information about Ethereum events, then so be it? I mean tbh, I can just copy that information directly to my computer, so theoretically it really doesn't matter that it's hosted on Google Docs, isn't it?

It really does matter, bc it is also about the image you are presenting to outsiders. If I speak to non-crypto about Ethereum most think it is cool and magical stuff, building something opposite to Google web2 narrative. And when they hear everyone is just using Google meets and docs, it’s like a disappointment. It’s like ok, those people are sticking their necks out to building a new amazing onchain ecosystem, the world computer, oh but actually do they really care, if they’re just using all the same old stuff? If Ethereum wants to be a cool and desirable thing and set itself apart from other chains I think on every level they have to signal quality. Like an Apple Store has all these particular rules, how it should look and feel. It is all about image.

That I agree with. But again, how would you justify the mandating the use of Fileverse over Google? Is it just that Google is the enemy of web3, so naturally you'd have to use another tool? Or do you mandate it by saying that Fileverse gives people more control over their data, etc.?
But I guess if you go the "you should use decentralized tech because utility," then you really open yourself up to a "yeah but actually" kind of a debate where people will discuss the most true idea about how tech should be used.

So probably you have to argue more from a "this is what's supposed to happen" perspective, deontic authority, not epistemic

It’s not about mandating anything. It’s about being creative. Show how it can be done different and better. If they go low we go high ;)

And also important, if no one is using the new tools like for example Fileverse or something else, they will just disappear into oblivion. Nothing will ever change. I need more than ten fingers to count all the already sunsetted web3 tooling.

Anyway not for forcing anyone to use anything, all for freedom of choice, but more an appeal to be conscious about it.

And actually like using Jitsi (simple, open, but not even web3) instead of Google meets is already a step in showing you care about open systems and standards.

@misha, I got the response from Nathan and apparently these events are being shared on:

- sheets: (link I shared),

So seems like they cover all bases!
