A Sexual History Of The Internet

Mindy Seu's artist book A Sexual History of the Internet gathers anecdotes, artworks and historical artifacts that she describes as revealing the pervasive and perverted origins of digital tools. It documents a participatory lecture performance, told through audience phones, in which citations are read aloud by the audience. The book is also a financial experiment: citations by 45 people who shaped Seu's understanding of the internet, sex and sexual technologies receive a split of profits when copies sell, a model called "Citational Splits." The Metalabel release includes 5000 first-edition copies, released in September 2025.
