Beneath The Binary, Verifying Trust

Bitcoin Core's build system is presented as a core part of its trust model, with the claim that users should be able to verify the software rather than trust it. The article describes reproducible builds, in which multiple independent builders use Guix to build binaries from scratch and publish signed attestations in the guix.sigs repository. It also says the project is steadily minimizing third-party dependencies, such as OpenSSL and MiniUPnP, works toward fully static binaries, and has never included automatic updates.
