ChatGPT Plus Goes Free in This Country Under New OpenAI Collaboration

The UAE will become the first country to offer free ChatGPT Plus access to all its citizens and residents, according to Axios, as part of an OpenAI partnership tied to the Stargate UAE project. ChatGPT Plus is typically priced at $20 per month. OpenAI and UAE's G42 are building Stargate UAE, a large AI supercomputing hub run as a joint venture with Oracle, Nvidia, SoftBank and Cisco, with the first data center expected to go live next year. The article reports that Rep. Ro Khanna criticized the deal, and Sam Altman responded by calling critics "naive."
