Custom instructions for ChatGPT

OpenAI is introducing custom instructions that let users tailor ChatGPT to their needs, starting in beta with the Plus plan and expanding to all users in the coming weeks. The feature lets users add preferences or requirements that ChatGPT considers in every conversation, so they do not have to repeat them each time. OpenAI says the change responds to user feedback about the friction of starting each conversation afresh, and it cites conversations with users in 22 countries. Examples include a teacher not needing to repeat that they teach 3rd grade science and a grocery list accounting for 6 servings for a big family.
