Honestly, they never made sense to me neither. Especially their promotion as being something special for consumers and non technical people always felt extremely dumb. DID is just a very generic and over-workshopped identifier standard. Besides, I think most people‘s optimism for W3C doing us a favor by cleaning things up feel forgotten now. The DOM is a mess, Webauthn is bonkers (but useable) etc. It used to be that we‘d be excited for standards and rapid upgrades | |
