gm, if you're a newcomer to our Daily Discussion thread, this is a place where we discuss all Ethereum topics, news, events. And sometimes even things that are not directly Ethereum-related :) ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คญ So the prompt for today is: what's some crypto/Ethereum idea that lives rent free in your head? For me it's putting country's spending onchain. I am very triggered by government wasting my tax money, and adding more transparency should reduce fraud and incompetent capital allocation. Also, it makes sense from the philosophical POV. Money collected via taxes is supposed to be public, so citizens should be able to track how it's being spent (ofc with exceptions for intelligence/military/other secret projects). I think the way to do it is to start with some small, tech-friendly country like Estonia, Singapore or Taiwan, and eventually bigger countries would follow suit. Ofc many politicians would hate the idea, but if this experiment works out in other countries, it'd be hard to stop it. ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คญ @macbudkowski.eth maybe even just starting with pop-up cities would be an amazing start. I wonder what it would look like. Since it would largely be big transfers to various wallets address, it would be great if the receiving wallets had descriptive ENS or perhaps there would be a wikipedia like system where anyone can tag the transaction explaining what it does. Maybe we need RapGenius for Etherscan. ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คญ @ccarella.eth that's a great idea! Whenever I travel with friends, we always track costs and use Splitwise to ensure everyone can follow how we spent money. Same with renting a house. I guess most people operate that way on tradfi/web2 rails. Pop-up cities seem to be a logical next step, and we could learn how people react to all costs being transparent. ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คญ X is down. what better thing to do then check Kiwi news! ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คญ Wondering if it's a normal outage or some cyberattack ๐ค ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คญ Hacking group Dark Storm Team has reportedly claimed responsibility for a DDoS attack on X. Don't know if it's true, but it's the rumor. ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คญ | |
