If you're following Farcaster, this might actually be worth watching because somehow the tone here really is that of accepted failure that the social network Farcaster has essentially failed but that there's a mobile wallet which they've implemented and which has managed to grow week over week.
Honestly this might be far more consequential than people might expect as of now. To me this plus the new direction that the landing page is showing would suggest to me that they might actually be willing to... abandon the social protocol? It's an insane proposition, I know. And at the same time, e.g. the Clanker acquisition suggests that they're reliant further on the social network for the attention mechanism.

The examples that Dan mentions are e.g. Robinhood, and that they want to nurture app coins more with the US clarity act passing.

Which is like... crazy honestly. I mean, I might completely overinterpret this. But when I started Kiwi, I had in mind that everyone of my peers in the social space would get so distracted and misdirected from building a social network that they'd eventually pivot elsewhere or shut down.

Today, Lens is practically stale? Farcaster is all about being a wallet now? But Base, they still do seem to walk the "we want creators" talk. Plus Zora. Although even Base's website title is "It pays to be here" lol

Really wild. Today I said in the TG channel that I'll shut down Kiwi because it's not paying me. Now when I see this, I just want to double down. I honestly didn't see this coming from my desk here.
