We’re at a pivotal moment in history: the world is waking up to the dangers of Marxism … We must embrace economic freedom, and vote Marxist leaders out of office. Crazy he keeps on rambling about Marxism. Does he even know what that is? I asked Claude. Currently, there are very few governments that follow Marxist ideology: North Korea (DPRK): While traditionally considered Marxist-Leninist, it now follows its own ideology called Kimilsungism–Kimjongilism. The ruling Workers' Party of Korea reinstated its goal towards communism in 2021, though some communists consider it a non-Marxist socialist state. Also it is a wild assumption that just merely having ‘economic freedom’ will create ‘prosperity for all’. This is really an oversimplified idea of how economies work. There are so many more factors to having prosperity. And why for all? It could easily also create prosperity for a few. Anyway a lot of wishful thinking down at centralized crypto Coinbase ;) I personally wouldn‘t trust how someone classifies a state. We were also supposed to believe that China and Vietnam are communist, yet when I went there in 2016 and 2019, both states were far more capitalist than I had ever seen in Germany. At least in terms of judging their economy. You could get done literally anything with money, yet everybody in the West was totally off about this. Most likely because it wasn‘t consensus to just say this. My main take away from the Communist manifesto was that it‘s pitting one group against another with communists being those who help the group that isn‘t in power rising to power. To me the group names are just variables. I think that book and its message is stupid. In fact, socialism must insist on its internationalism as it otherwise mutates to national-socialism, where only the nation received socialism. It‘s fundamentally zero sum and a lot of left leaning ideas sadly derive from it. E.g. when talking about who should own a resource then Marxism/Communism assumes scarcity and zero sum outcomes, and it‘s only fight is about who should now get the resource instead. This is bad. Just to make a more positive example, Henry George always diagnoses such events as market failure and comes up with solutions that can fix the market. That‘s positive sum. I think it‘s fine to scapegoat Marxsism tbh | |
