Actually, the news here is that the Canary has been removed from the Ethereum Foundation's website:

Wow, nice catch. I think it's safe to assume that the SEC contacted EF regarding the Ethereum ETF; why wouldn't they? What's weird is that the EF hasn't disclosed it. Maybe it's somehow related to the procedures, or they just don't want to talk about it to not influence the markets.

Well, the noteworthy thing is that this commit is 3 weeks old already so only god knows why it‘s the news today.

There‘s a chance the commit was only uploaded today, OK, but my psycho analysis would be that people are feeling the pain from decreasing prices and so this headline hit better today than 3 weeks ago.
