Ethereum Foundation and Immunefi Launch 'Attackathon'

The Ethereum Foundation and Immunefi have launched the first Ethereum protocol Attackathon, a crowdsourced security audit competition hosted by Immunefi. The four-week event focuses on finding vulnerabilities in the Ethereum protocol, with participants receiving code education through live technical walkthroughs and Attackathon Academy content first. The Ethereum Foundation seeded the reward pool with $500,000 and aims to raise over $2 million by the end of the sponsorship program on August 1, 2024. Immunefi will compile the findings into an official report that highlights discovered vulnerabilities and recognizes top researchers.
