Getting Ready for NFTs on Unichain

Uniswap has announced Unichain, a general-purpose Layer 2 built for DeFi that is open to other apps, and William M. Peaster of Bankless argues it could also develop an NFT scene. Because Unichain is EVM-equivalent, projects such as Zora's NFT minting protocol could be redeployed on it, and the first NFTs on the network will be Uniswap V3 LP position NFTs, which can already be used on the Unichain Sepolia testnet. Peaster predicts NFTs will settle at roughly 2-3% of gas fees, similar to DeFi-focused L2s like Arbitrum, Base and ZKsync, rather than the 40%-plus seen on Zora Network. The Unichain mainnet launch is scheduled for November 2024.
