Goodbye for now

A longtime Ethereum L1 R&D contributor is taking an indefinite break from the work after more than seven years, saying the departure is personal and not a reflection of Ethereum, core development, or crypto. Helping steward Ethereum into proof-of-stake is described as an honor, and R&D is described as in good hands given the depth of experience across dozens of teams. Contributors and the wider ecosystem are urged to focus on true value over short-term gains and to be kind in both bull and bear markets. Through the end of the year, priorities are family and a few personal projects, with interest in part-time work as 2025 begins.
