Hardware wallet Ledger launches offline recovery key for new wallets

Ledger has introduced Ledger Recovery Key, an optional offline physical tool that lets users recover private keys without cloud services, identity verification or personal details. The smart card stores private keys on an NFC connection and is protected by its own PIN, and it supports only the Ledger Flex and Ledger Stax wallets. According to the company, the tool was tested internally by its Donjon team and externally audited by Synacktiv, and its application code is open-sourced on GitHub. Ledger's chief technology officer, Charles Guillemet, said the product will launch soon.
