'Hated' Ethereum due for a comeback says crypto icon Arthur Hayes

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of the BitMEX exchange, says Ethereum is due for a comeback and that Bitcoin could reach about $1 million by the end of 2028. In an interview with Fortune freelancer Anna Tutova at Token2049 in Dubai, Hayes predicted Bitcoin could go close to $200,000 in the near term and about $250,000 by year-end. He said Ethereum could outperform Solana over the next 18 to 24 months because it remains widely disliked yet still leads in TVL, developers and proof-of-stake security. Hayes also said he holds about 20% of his portfolio in gold.
