Hear the drawing

Shojiro Nakaoka, a Japanese composer, sound artist and audiovisualist, describes his generative art as sound converted into drawn images, saying "you'd be able to hear the drawing" if the process were reversed. In an interview with Raquel Gaudard, he explains that his work uses tools such as Max/MSP, Processing, oscilloscopes and plotters, with vector synthesis and Lissajous figures producing shapes in real time. He first minted on objkt.com in April 2024, after hearing about the platform from his friend Qubibi, who guided him through the process. Nakaoka says he builds his own Processing software for his plotter drawings, and that he is "always driven by the desire to surprise even myself with the results."
