Hyperstructures
AI summary of the linked articleHyperstructures are blockchain-based protocols that the author describes as able to run for free and forever, without maintenance, interruption or intermediaries. The article defines them by five traits: unstoppable, free, valuable, expansive and permissionless, plus credibly neutral and positive-sum. It cites Uniswap as an example that would keep running if its team and website disappeared, and says owners can hold a fee switch that could be turned on by a vote. The article contrasts these with platforms like Opensea and Coinbase, which go down with their operators. |

3 comments I really like this concept. Hyperstructure Crypto protocols that can run for free and forever, without maintenance, interruption or intermediaries. This article is from early 2022. Is Zora there yet? qiaoliang.ethSubmitter Unstoppable: the protocol cannot be stopped by anyone. It runs for as long as the underlying blockchain exists. (No more) Free: there is a 0% protocol wide fee and runs exactly at gas cost. Valuable: accrues value which is accessible and exitable by the owners. Expansive: there are built-in incentives for participants in the protocol. Permissionless: universally accessible and censorship resistant. Builders and users cannot be deplatformed. Positive sum: it creates a win-win environment for participants to utilize the same infrastrastructure. Credibly neutral: the protocol is user-agnostic. |
