Internet? No Thanks (mirror.xyz)
The rise of the headless internet had already been declared back when RSS got widespread. But since most web sites relied on advertising for income that changed again, thanks to JS. The main difference now? Agents can use the blockchain for minting and other transactions, so the need for advertising income and therefore "real, active users" could be reduced. The idea of agent-first web design is very intriguing. I built one business primarily by betting on SEO, and what we learned is that all optimizations are great, but in the long run, just having high-quality, human-readable content is the key to winning. With agents, it might be different. On one hand, agents aren't picking content for other agents - they're picking it for humans. But on the other hand, they can synthesize and rewrite the content they've read, so maybe some bullet points with backlinks supporting the claims might be enough. I really hope @rvolz.eth that minting will reduce the stress on ad-based revenue because the incentives of the websites might become more aligned with the users.
