Introducing Codex

OpenAI has launched Codex, a cloud-based software engineering agent in research preview that can work on many coding tasks in parallel, each in its own sandboxed environment preloaded with the user's repository. Codex is powered by codex-1, a version of OpenAI o3 optimized for software engineering, and it can write features, answer codebase questions, fix bugs, and propose pull requests for review. Initial access is for ChatGPT Pro, Enterprise, and Business users, with Plus and Edu support announced as coming soon.
