Meta terminates its DEI programs days before Trump inauguration

Meta is ending its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, effective immediately, days before Donald Trump's inauguration. An internal memo from vice-president of human resources Janelle Gale cited changing legal and policy landscape around DEI, including recent supreme court decisions, and said the company is ending programs such as the Diverse Slate Approach and representation goals. The memo also ends supplier diversity efforts, and the company is disbanding a team focused on DEI.
