New App Turns Mobile Boarding Passes Into JD Vance Memes

A new web generator called Dare Fail lets users turn their Apple Wallet boarding passes into JD Vance memes, with the design built on a blurred version of the meme that border agents questioned Norwegian Mads Mikkelsen over. Tech entrepreneur James Steinberg created the tool to keep attention on Mikkelsen's case, saying "we have to decide if we're okay with bald memes of our vice president in our airports or not." Steinberg told Hyperallergic that 431 people had uploaded boarding passes as of Tuesday afternoon, and that to his knowledge none had been deported. It is unclear whether using the boarding passes is legal.
