I've been using Gnosis Pay without issues for a while, but since they all rely on the debit card circuit (eg Visa) I'd hardly call them fully self-custodial. If anyone needs a card I'm happy to send a referral.

It's as good as it gets to connect to the existing financial circuits, but it would be cool to start creating a system that fully transacts and settles onchain

Actually, its not as good as it gets, because for me I need to hold EURe tokens. Ideally, I'd like to have crypto in the safe wallet and it auto-swaps based on some predefined rules. I could also imagine some permit functionality, which is something I really hope they will implement at some point.

btw that's somewhat possible with Zeal. E.g. you can setup deposit rules with Zeal such that e.g. you deposit your dollar Stablecoin into Sky to earn 8% APY (as of now). Or you can even park your money in ETH and only swap to fill up the Gnosis Pay.

Is that a fork of safe with some additional modules in it? I thought gnosispay can't do transaction which are not confirmed to be EURe by a number of blocks, making an instant conversion during the payment happening unfeasible. I remember there was something like that, but its been a while, so maybe I got that wrong.

It looks interesting, going to give it a try. Did you test it with gnosis pay? Any hiccups to expect during setup?

Yeah, I‘ve been using that app with Gnosis Pay as my daily driver credit card for almost all expenses and it works really well.

Also, when there was this period of very high yield on stablecoins 6 months ago it felt really nice using this model because I‘d have my stablecoins parked in Sky and Aave and they‘d get up to 10% APY for some period.

How the model works is that you define a EURe amount your Gnosis Pay card should be filled up to and this part doesn‘t earn yield. For me that‘s 200 EUR. And then there is the larger amount of money you put in Sky. And if your Gnosis Pay falls under 200 EUR, then a script triggers that cashes out from Sky/Aave and sends it to the card.

That is the reason I frickin love DeFi.

The People think that SEPA Instant is next-gen will probably explode their head if they understand this.

I still wish Gnosis pay (or monerium) would use allowance and swaps of sorts to use EURe just as a gateway anymore. Will probably not happen, but that'd be pretty cool
