I think the confusion is around the expectation implied by the affordance of a decentralized social network, as Peter also mentions: > For the past day, there are entire threads on the legal steps that people can take against this person for compiling a dataset from publicly shared, publicly available, publicly indexable, publicly streamed data. I‘d say: „but you uploaded it to Youtube for everyone to reproduce and remix it! How can you possibly insist on those rights to be exclusive to you? You publicized it! That right doesn‘t count anymore“ Now, of course, both parties have a point here actually. For me, I‘d actually like to clarify this technically with Kiwi News and it‘d actually be awesome if every signed message had a LICENSE property that users could individually eg set to the Creative Commons Attribution license etc. Or, if they prefer, to All rights reserved. But so that we immediately create certainty for the ecosystem!
