Poetics of Encryption

The KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin presents Poetics of Encryption, a group exhibition running February 17 to May 26, 2024, featuring more than 40 international artists across all floors. Curated by Nadim Samman, the show surveys art about technology's hidden inner workings through the themes of Black Sites, Black Boxes, and Black Holes, which the text says describe how technical systems capture users, operate in stealth, and distort cultural space-time. The exhibition is part of a year-long program supported by Volkswagen Group, which also includes a publication, a website with three web-first commissions, and a 2023 conference.
