3 comments  timSubmitter gm, if you're reading the token holder chat you might have heard me talk about removing the Kiwi Pass token gating. This PR is doing that. I'd like to give people who want to hard-object the removal a chance to speak up here OK with that. Seems sensible. Maybe Kiwi pass might still function as something to get certain perks. For example governance :) or to participate in a writing contest, or maybe to get certain rewards if any. Something like that. You could also make the pass more expensive in that case so it becomes an explicit support of Kiwi, also financially. Maybe like Farcaster Pro you have Kiwi Pro! I actually hadn't even thought of it. But yes, that would be neat! While I feel it is pretty scary to just remove the pass from the protocol, I do feel like it gives more room to explore more ideas. As you said: It'd be quite easy to make a site that gives people a Telegram invite link when they hold the pass etc.. I'm also somewhat happy to turn off the primary market minting capability. And I'm frankly also looking forward to getting rid of that smart contract which I should have actually deployed myself initially. |
