Spotify expands into video learning content – music included

Spotify is testing video learning courses in the UK, offering a selection from four partners: BBC Maestro, PlayVirtuoso, SkillShare and Thinkific. The courses are paid, but users can try at least two lessons from each before deciding whether to buy the rest, and then watch them on mobile or desktop. Prices range from £24.90 for an MJ Cole 2-step garage beat course to £239.99 for a YouTube storytelling and editing course. Spotify said that about half of Premium subscribers have engaged with education or self-help podcasts, which it estimated at around 118 million people based on its end-of-2023 numbers.
