Sunsetting Gitcoin Grants Stack

Gitcoin is winding down its Grants Labs business unit and the Grants Stack technology as of the end of May 2025, saying its expenses had outpaced revenue for some time. Interim Executive Director (the post's author, named only by role) states that Gitcoin as a whole generates about $1M per year in revenue while spending about $3M per year, with Grants Labs a significant part of that burn. The organization says it will refocus on the Gitcoin Grants Program, with Gitcoin Passport, now part of human.tech, continuing independently, and that the grants program's rounds, including GG24, will continue.
