U.S. Commerce Department Posts GDP Data Onchain

The U.S. Department of Commerce published Q2 2025 GDP data on nine blockchains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum One, Polygon PoS, and Optimism, marking the first time a U.S. federal agency has published official economic data onchain. The Department published a SHA256 hash of the GDP release and its topline figure, using Pyth and Chainlink oracles, with Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken supporting execution. Chainlink also made six key macroeconomic metrics from the Bureau of Economic Analysis available onchain, to be updated monthly or quarterly.
