Misha can you please say a few words about this website etc? This is Tezos, how eg, can users set their names? How does it compare to OpenSea? etc

objkt.com is the largest NFT marketplace on Tezos blockchain https://docs.objkt.com/product/fundamentals/getting-started/what-is-tezos offering art, music, collectibles, gaming items and other virtual goods on a mission to build the largest web3 creator platform, empowering creators, collectors and builders. https://docs.objkt.com/product/overview/what-is-objkt.com

The platform emphasizes community-driven participation, with artists, collectors, and curators forming the core community members. Important to note that it is not DAO governed like Teia platform https://teia.art/ https://teia.art/about

objkt is like OpenSea also an NFT aggregator, so Teia works are also visible on objkt. Also objkt has an open API, I used it myself to build my own marketplace on top of it. (Btw Rarible also aggregates Tezos NFT.) OpenSea's larger scale, multi-chain support, and focus on mainstream adoption make it more commercial, while objkt is more community-driven and artist-focused, appealing to a smaller, niche audience.

The key difference between objkt and OpenSea regarding royalties lies in their enforcement. objkt honors creator royalties. This means that royalties set by the creator are respected and enforced for secondary sales on the platform. OpenSea has shifted toward a more flexible (and optional) royalties model, which may disadvantage creators.

Tezos has like Ethereum ENS a name and onchain identity system which is .tez You can mint your Tezos profile and name here https://tzprofiles.com/ It also resolves like eth.limo you can use tez.page use it you pin your website on IPFS. You can send tokens to .tez addresses and they resolve on the Tezos explorer https://developers.tezos.domains/

While you’re at it also check out Tezos explorer https://tzkt.io/ delegation https://baking-bad.org/ and staking https://stake.tezos.com/ (not financial advice)

I was early on Tezos and started out with the inception of HEN (now Teia) in spring 2021. It has always been a fun and actually relatively safe space. I keep coming back mostly for the art and the community vibes, even now when you have ETH PoS, the cheap ETH L2s and Gnosis. (Previously Tezos was partly driven by the low transaction fees and the fact that it was regarded environmentally friendly PoS).

I think it is a great space to start your blockchain art adventure, you can learn without a lot of risk, it’s cheap and it is very open and composable. Pay attention to events where you can proliferate your work or collect and discover new work. Check out the Nftbiker for great Tezos art tools https://nftbiker.xyz/ and their events page https://nftbiker.xyz/event
