@naruto11eth: Why Solana Conference impressed me more than Ethereum events

As someone just back from Eth Dublin, I can't agree with the Solana events are all better. Eth Dublin might have been small, but it was very much the perfect size where you'd not get overwhelmed with people, and crossed the same faces again and again, giving ample opportunity to have great chats.

It was also very much a non-pvp conference, all the people I spoke with were very supportive of each other (and managed to agree to disagree at times), and the ecosystem by and large. Not a single person talked really about price, or tried to hard-sell anything - which was very refreshing.

The audience for talks was ofc smaller, but I'd say there too you had people who'd care listen, and often afterwards people discussed the talks with the speaker (probably harder to do if the conference is huge cause you don't even find them ^^).

I do agree that food matters. Also size matters; too many side events meh; curation also is hella important, you don't want to have the same topics covered again and again by the same people who say the same things as they did during the last conference. I am sure there's room for experimentation in that realm.

As an aside, I was speaking with Nick (dr nick on x) about this as he just came back from Accelerate, straight into my talk, and he said that accelerate felt really like work whereas this Eth community event was light-hearted, and fun.

So there's that, maybe Ethereum doesn't have to become all this superprofessional, corporate conference thing. Not saying we should be a hippie commune but there might be a healthy way to have these events without turning them into clones of TradFi/ business conferences.
